Overview

We are facing an evolutionary crisis of unprecedented magnitude. Our life support systems are threatened and billions are suffering from poverty, disease, violence and separation. At the very same moment we can see the emergence of new systems in every field -- health, education, economics, science and technology, the arts, media, and more – that are changing the world for the better.

Creative solutions are springing up all over, projects that work. Up to a million organizations working for sustainability and social justice are forming, which constitute, as Paul Hawken says, “the largest mass movement in the history of humanity.” Social networks for positive change are beginning to network. We may be very close to a non-linear jump in the connectivity of what is emergent and working in our world.

We know that crises precede transformation and that problems are evolutionary drivers. We know that incremental change is not enough. We realize that the shift must be non-linear and exponential. This is the greatest conscious drama in human history and a vital focus for education in the 21st Century.

In this Intensive, participants will be called upon to be both learners and co-creators – actors upon the stage of history. As part of our time together, using our model, we will create a unique political event to demonstrate how we might be able to evolve and transform our political systems and the American Presidency by 2012.

Course Objectives

  • To share a model for the evolution of citizen participation and politics and to develop evolutionary leadership in social/political transformation, based upon the Principles and Practices of Conscious Evolution and Social Synergy
  • To apply these principles to the specific field of interest of each participant
  • To create a powerful intention to transform all levels of our political system, including the presidency, to reflect the values of the evolutionary wisdom culture, by 2012.

This Intensive is a call to students of Wisdom University, and to global citizens in the United States and beyond who are ready to develop their leadership for deeper participation in the transformation of our socio-political systems.

Course Description

The Intensive will respond to the following questions:

  • What is missing?
  • What is required of us to help catalyze the transformation to a Wisdom Culture, to a Co-creative Society in which people everywhere will be free to be and do their best?
  • How can we cross the great evolutionary “gap” from the collapse scenarios to the evolutionary culture in time?

This Intensive will offer a dramatic opportunity for participants to respond to these great questions in Real Time.

We are inviting Paul Ray of the Institute of Emerging Wisdom Culture, along with Jim Garrison, to announce the findings of their latest survey examining the rise of new values in the United States, since this information will be used to support the creation of our model.

The Five Day Intensive will have three parts:

Part One: PRINCIPLES AND PRACTICES OF SOCIAL SYNERGY

a. The Evolutionary Perspective seen as “sacred evolution”
b. Social Synergy as a natural process
c. The Overview Effect - seeing ourselves as a whole system from a universal perspective
d. Visions of Our Future based on the realization of our spiritual, social, and scientific/technological capacities
e. Conscious Evolution as an alternative to war: Shifting the goal posts
f. The advent of evolutionary consciousness and second tier awareness among growing numbers of people
g. The rise of Collective Intelligence
h. Key qualities of social synergy: collaboration, inclusiveness, trust, and common ground, local, inspired by individuals, etc.

Part Two: REINVENTING THE WHEEL: THE SYNCHRONIZATION OF SOCIAL SYSTEMS. CONNECTING WHAT IS WORKING IN AMERICA AND THE WORLD

The “Wheel,” was designed to be used as a Peace Room in the Office of the Vice Presidency to scan for, map, connect, and communicate what is working in America. It is a symbolic representation of the whole system shift, with each of our vital societal functions seen as a sector of the Wheel. The Wheel is a matrix for memes and initiatives now transforming our world. When the various parts of the Wheel connect, we will experience a quantum jump.

Invitations have gone out to leaders of great collaborative networks to join us to co-create a special Meta-Wheel event at this Intensive – creating a Wheel to synchronize the synchronizers, to network the networks, to discover the evolutionary design revealed through resonance, synergy, vision, and whole system process. We will share in both practical and sacred experiences to call in this higher design.

Lora O'Connor of the PartnerSHIFT Alliance; Stephen Dinan of the Institute of Noetic Sciences; Patricia Ellsberg, peace activist and spiritual leader; Stacey Lawson, entrepreneur; Eleanor LeCain of New Way USA; Avon Mattison of Pathways to Peace; Paul Ray, sociologist and Chair of the Emerging Wisdom Culture, Wisdom University; Jim Channon, social architect and strategic designer; and Foster Gamble, producer of the Thrive documentary, and others, will join forces in a demonstration of the connectivity of what is working in America and the world.

Part Three: A POLITICAL THEATER -- TOWARD THE TRANSFORMATION OF THE AMERICAN PRESIDENCY BY 2012

Using the whole systems model created during our first three days together, we will explore how to develop political campaigns at various levels, including the presidency, through a new way of networking the networks for positive change and utilizing the rapidly growing movement of self-organization and integration which is neither Left nor Right but Forward, Upward and Whole.

Individuals will be invited to play presidential and vice presidential candidates, along with cabinet member nominees, based on key innovations taken from their activities in the various sectors of the Wheel. We plan to have a presidential “announcement” (possibly live on the internet), with media asking candidates questions, and an acknowledgement of projects and innovations which are already making a difference.

Key elements of a new form of political campaigning will be explored, including: How to create a Peace Room; How to create a team presidency and a synergistic cabinet of innovators and creators of the wisdom culture; How to involve the arts and healers in a political campaign; How to use prayer, intention, visualization and collective intelligence to manifest the authentic power of
transformative politics.

A Planetary Flow Chart, an indicative plan of people¹s plans in every sector of the Wheel will be co-created as a method of coordination and synchronization of the Work we decide needs to be done. One shared goal might be The Transformation of the American Presidency by 2012. That is, a presidency that is created “from the bottom up,” to represent the values and practical solutions of the emerging world.
